My obsession with clay began with an evening ceramics class in 1992. I was immediately captivated. I learned to throw pots on the wheel but found that handbuilding offered the greatest room for expression.

In 1997 I quit my day job, traveled to Mexico and made distorted vessel forms in an isolated house by the sea. Since returning to the US in 1998 and moving to Seattle, I've tried to dedicate as much time as possible to making art.

I'm a member of the Seward Park Art Studio and have taught handbuilding classes at The Pottery School in Pioneer Square and a short summer course at the Northwest School.
